Feature description

We (and most clients) save their contacts on a Synology NAS.
They may be accessed using the CardDAV protocol.
At the moment DAVx⁵ is used as connector. If Fossify Contacts could support CardDAV natively, you could do without this detour.

Why do you want this feature?

A native CardDAV support would make the use a bit easier and more comfortable.

Is there another way to synchronize the contacts without having to share them with all apps on the phone? What setup are people using to achieve this?

I would assume the apps need a permission granted first to be able to access contacts..?

Of course, but the dialog that asks for the permission can pop up at any moment and the grant button is quite large, so there is a high risk of accidentally pressing it.
