Is there a way to override an environment variable in a file?

I have the environment variable defined in settings.json file like the following code block. I want to override the host variable inside the file. Something like @host="xyz-local.domain.com". I know I can create another environment for local, but that's not what I want.

Can't you just use exactly what you said? Except maybe without quotes:

### Your .http file

@host = xyz-local.domain.com

###
GET https://{{host}}/api/v1/...

Thank you, that works! Quotes were the problem.
