Pressing enter doesn't consistently send message #309

Describe the bug
Pressing enter doesn't always seem to send the message, instead leaving it in the text input. I've had this happen to myself in Firefox and thought it was a me issue, now reproduced by a user on the spacebar.chat instance under Brave:
"I already typed this but when I hit enter. It just stays in the box, the chat box. I have to wait for a while, mean while I am hitting enter to send it"
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- type message
- hit enter
- sometimes it doesnt send
Expected behavior
Expected message to send, or some other form of feedback to know why the message send was cancelled.
