Is your feature request related to a problem?
Many people copy community PoB's and get to the point where they want to compare their builds or gear with the original PoB. The current version of multiple passive trees and gearsets in PoB are fantastic for comparing changes made to the build, but currently there is no good way to directly compare two builds.
Describe the solution you'd like
I propose an ability to import two different builds that open in the same window, side by side. I know nothing of programming so I have no clue how hard that would be to actually pull off, but seeing from glance the different pathing, changes in numbers and other such things.
My image editing skills are horrible, but I hope the following will give some idea what I am thinking. With the left one being the "Original" build imported first and right one being "the comparison" build, imported second.
- Second build highlighting pathing not present in the original build
- Changes in numbers visible on the imported build, I'd rather them be numerically shown somehow but that seemed fiddly when editing, so I just went with "This number is higher, so turn the line red and when opposite, blue."
Describe alternatives you've considered
Of course the current multiple passive trees and gearsets are great, but they're fiddly when comparing two complete builds since to see the changes you need to keep switching between them.
Having two instances of PoB open at the same time actually works better for this purpose, but even then the comparison can be bit of a pain.
Additional context
The functionality would pretty much be the same as the current multiple passive trees / item sets feature present, which is great for making levelling paths etc. The purpose of this "tabbed" format would be to compare two complete builds with each other.
For example
Comparing two different characters playing the same build, maybe from different leagues.
This can be nice when comparing a newer character to older ones, especially useful for buildmakers.
