Terminal crashes/closes

Prerequisites

• I am sure this issue is with the extension itself and does not reproduce in a standalone PowerShell instance.
• I have verified that I am using the latest version of Visual Studio Code and the PowerShell extension.

Summary

When opening the terminal window, it immediately crashes and closes again.

from the menu I click terminal > new terminal. as soon as it opens it closes again

EDIT: Adding an executable path to /usr/local/bin/pwsh and setting that as the default version works perfectly.

I'm having the same issue with PowerShell 7.6.1...

PowerShell exists at /usr/local/bin/pwsh btw, calling it in Terminal works perfectly. I also tried adding an executable path in settings to /usr/local/microsoft/powershell/7/pwsh and making that the default version, yet it also crashes. I installed PowerShell via the installer image on the docs page, yet it also crashes when installed via brew.
