I've had this issue for a while on a dual boot Mac Pro 3,1. Depending on the distro, it's better or worse.
I mostly use Arch version, Manjaro and CachyOS, but have now started using Bazzite a Fedora flavor that updates daily in the background.
Previously after rebooting to the updated Arch, it would immediately boot to Linux ignoring the ESP firm bootbless. I would reboot 1-2 times and eventually RefindPlus would load first and I'd re-bless and all was good. Now Bazzite is just updating daily and essentially forcing multiple reboots which is going to kill my ancient power supply.
Yes, going back to Arch is the easy solution but wondering if there's additional steps I could take from Mac OS to assure Refind always boots. Would a HFS config deployment work better?
