You can see the partches used by the promote command here https://github.com/argoproj/argo-rollouts/blob/master/pkg/kubectl-argo-rollouts/cmd/promote/promote.go#L33 |

We currently have a custom blue-green rollout solution, and I'm now working on prototyping argo rollouts. We have an integration test phase that runs after the first pod is created, and before the service makes that pod active. In order to integrate into Argo Rollouts, I assume I have to set "autoPromotionEnabled: false" so that it goes into paused state after the pods are created. I successfully got to that point. My trouble is that I can't figure out how to unpause it. I'm using raw kubectl because in our build environment I may not be able to depend on the argo plugin being installed. I tried several variations of "patch" calls, setting "paused" to false and trying to remove the pause conditions, but the rollout is still stuck in status "Paused". What is the proper step(s) to perform to kick it back into gear?
I appear to be using v0.14.0.
And now I've confirmed that when I used "kubectl argo rollouts promote " it worked perfectly fine. I need to understand what that did under the covers.
