I live in a rural place in Greece with a slow internet line (not dialup, but slow). Flatpaks are impossible to use, because they have gigabytes of downloads for their frameworks every few days, it's too much for our line. Even if the app doesn't have an update, their frameworks usually do.

Appimages are much more usable, because they usually don't weigh more than 30-300 MB. It's a one-time download usually (until there's an update). Please consider offering an appimage, thx!

I understand but I don’t currently plan to maintain an AppImage, but Mini EQ is available from PyPI and can run natively without downloading Flatpak runtimes.

After installing the required system packages for GTK4, Libadwaita, PyGObject, PipeWire/WirePlumber, Meson, and GObject Introspection, install it with:

python3 -m venv --system-site-packages ~/.local/share/mini-eq/venv
~/.local/share/mini-eq/venv/bin/python -m pip install mini-eq
~/.local/share/mini-eq/venv/bin/mini-eq --check-deps
~/.local/share/mini-eq/venv/bin/mini-eq --install-desktop

This installs a normal desktop launcher. The exact system package names depend on your distribution, if you tell me which distro you use, I can provide the corresponding package command. The dependency examples are also documented here.
