Shrink/Expand status

Hello,

We are exploring the Shrink/Expand feature to adapt Dynamic Resource Management to Charm++, but we have encountered some issues during testing.

• I tried compiling with the Shrink/Expand feature on the main branch, but it had some compilation issues. I posted a fix Fix --enable-shrinkexpand build  #3874 , but the provided example still didn’t work.
• I also tried the shrinkexpand-fix branch and ran the example:
  • The expand operation worked, but shrink did not.

Questions

• Which branches currently support Shrink/Expand? And is it expected to work on the main branch?
• Which Charm++ version has stable Shrink/Expand support?
• Are there any other branches with ongoing fixes or improvements?
