Hi, this issue is still affecting me on Windows 11 with Continue.
Even with permissions.yaml and auto mode, msbuild still requires confirmation every time.
Please keep this open and prioritize the fix.

Although the issue description is really not the best, I can confirm:

Setting run_terminal_command to automatic has no effect!

In theory, the functionality is there - it is just broken. It has been broken since at least March 2026 when I first tried Continue.dev - and discarded it for this reason.

Verified again today with Continue.dev extension version 2.0.0, VSCode 1.129.1 on Win 11.

This is a critical issue for many users obviously. Please fix!
