This repository's skills rank ahead of third parties, Mac-only and account-bound rows are deferred, every other row stays unconfirmed until install-and-test, and pixel-art rows carry a style so they apply only to pixel-art projects. Anthropic's design plugin (design-critique, accessibility-review, ux-copy) is added as an unconfirmed official route. routing.test.mjs checks the schema and enums, unique ids and 1..n ranks per concern, that every repo-skill row names a skill that exists here, the repo-first order, and the deferred rule. It then checks each routing row by its detect value: a plugin id counts when its user-scope record is enabled or a project or local record has projectEnabled, a skill when its folder is in the user or project skills directory, and an MCP server when claude mcp list or .mcp.json names it. Without the claude CLI, or with an unreadable list, installed is null with a reason. Repo-skill rows now detect through their plugin id. Tests drive the script as a CLI against fixture projects and canned lists through --plugin-list-json, --mcp-list and --home, so they never read this machine's state. Volatile upstream facts are pointer records with an as-of date and a recheck trigger. SKILL.md now runs detect, lets the project lead, picks the type file by listing types/, routes each concern by exact id through the installed, deferred, style, reachable and account checks, combines routes that do not conflict, and carries in brief every rule an eval grades. detect.mjs adds reachable: an MCP route by its connected status, an account-free route once installed, and null where only an account, a key or the session can tell. Install-and-test confirms 25 routes. detect.mjs now counts local-scope installs for this project. Paid tools only when nothing free fits. No effect yet: every account-bound route is still deferred until it is tested. | + +### How to set these + +Three supported routes, in the order most people want them: + +1. **Interactively.** Claude Code prompts for declared options when you enable the + plugin. To change them later: `/plugin configure user-interface@`. +2. **Headless.** Repeat `--config` for each option. Replace + `` with the marketplace you installed this plugin from: + + ```shell + claude plugin install user-interface@ -s --config account_tools_enabled= + ``` + + The same command reconfigures a plugin that is **already installed**: it prints + `already installed` and still writes the value. The short-circuit message is + about the install, not the config write. Do **not** `claude plugin uninstall` to + reconfigure: uninstalling drops this plugin's whole stored `pluginConfigs` entry, + resetting every option in the table above to its default. `-s` defaults to `user`, + so pass the scope `claude plugin list` reports for this plugin. The verified-version + record lives in the [plugin-reconfiguration convention](https://github.com/melodic-software/claude-code-plugins/blob/main/docs/conventions/plugin-reconfiguration/README.md). + + The value is stored immediately; the session you are in does not change. Hooks are + handed their `CLAUDE_PLUGIN_OPTION_*` when the session starts, so start a fresh + Claude Code session before expecting new behavior. A check run in the old session + still reports the old value, and that is not a failed write. + +3. **By hand, in settings.** Add the value under `pluginConfigs` in your **user** + settings (`~/.claude/settings.json`): + + ```json + { + "pluginConfigs": { + "user-interface@": { + "options": { + "account_tools_enabled": + } + } + } + } + ``` + + Plugin option values are read from **user**, `--settings`, and managed settings + only, **not** from a project's `.claude/settings.json`. To vary behavior per + repository, enable or disable the plugin in that project's `enabledPlugins` + instead of setting an option there. + +Do not set the `CLAUDE_PLUGIN_OPTION_*` variables yourself. They are how Claude Code +hands a configured value to a hook process; the value comes from the routes above. + +### Upstream documentation + +- [User configuration](https://code.claude.com/docs/en/plugins/manifest-reference#user-configuration): the `userConfig` schema and the `CLAUDE_PLUGIN_OPTION_` export +- [Plugin install options](https://code.claude.com/docs/en/plugins/cli-reference#plugin-install): the `--config` flag's reference entry +- [Plugins and skills settings](https://code.claude.com/docs/en/settings-reference#plugins-and-skills): `enabledPlugins`, `extraKnownMarketplaces`, `pluginConfigs` +- [Settings files and who they affect](https://code.claude.com/docs/en/settings#settings-files-and-who-they-affect): user vs project vs local precedence +- [Manage installed plugins](https://code.claude.com/docs/en/discover-plugins#manage-installed-plugins): enabling, disabling, `/plugin list` + + diff --git a/plugins/user-interface/scripts/detect.mjs b/plugins/user-interface/scripts/detect.mjs index 19cfeca100..87548dc170 100755 --- a/plugins/user-interface/scripts/detect.mjs +++ b/plugins/user-interface/scripts/detect.mjs @@ -64,7 +64,7 @@ function projectSignals() { function claude(args) { const win = process.platform === "win32"; const env = win ? { ...process.env, NoDefaultCurrentDirectoryInExePath: "1" } : process.env; - const r = spawnSync("claude", args, { encoding: "utf8", shell: win, env, timeout: 60_000 }); + const r = spawnSync("claude", args, { cwd: opts.project, encoding: "utf8", shell: win, env, timeout: 60_000 }); if (r.error || r.status !== 0) return new Error(`claude ${args.join(" ")} failed: ${r.error?.code ?? r.stderr?.trim() ?? r.status}`); return r.stdout; } diff --git a/plugins/user-interface/skills/design/SKILL.md b/plugins/user-interface/skills/design/SKILL.md index b876138889..6b7b9d3b59 100644 --- a/plugins/user-interface/skills/design/SKILL.md +++ b/plugins/user-interface/skills/design/SKILL.md @@ -84,7 +84,8 @@ These apply whatever the route, and the type files give the detail: - **Not a TTY**: when output is piped, redirected or captured, emit no color, styling, cursor movement, spinner or animation; print plain lines a script can parse. - **`NO_COLOR`**: when it is set and not empty, add no ANSI color, whatever its value, and never - carry meaning in color alone. + carry meaning in color alone.
