Uploads inconsistency

Steps to reproduce

1. Configure auto-upload for one or more types (camera & video for me).
2. Take pics/vids that will be uploaded. Due to my current connection, mp4s will not work due to network limitations imposed on me, they time out. This is not unexpected and it's not the bug. The jpgs upload without problem.
3. For each MP4, "cancel" the upload so that I can try again when I have better internet connectivity, then I will upload all of these (recent) mp4s.
4. Take more pics. The android notification shows mp4s bring re-attempted. The filter listed is in the "Cancelled" list of Uploads, not in the "Current" section. None of the jpgs are being attempted yet, all "waiting to upload", though the network is fine for jpg upload. I cancel any mp4s on the list, only jpgs in current.

I don't want to disable video uploads because there will be many and I don't want to have to reselect "upload all existing files" later (there are many videos before this week that do not need to be re-synced), and I don't want to have to manually upload all of these.

Bottom line: no mp4s in the Current list, very the drop-down Android notification days it is trying to upload an mp4 file.

Btw, I also tried the beta Android app (rc2, five days ago) but it was triggering "conflict resolutions" on every single file. I'm not reporting that as a bug here, just mentioning it in case somebody would recommend trying it since I believe it is attempting a redesigned auto-upload mechanism.

Expected behaviour

If a file is cancelled, it should not be re-attempted unless/until explicitly reset by the user.

Actual behaviour

It keeps re-attempting cancelled files, and the display of what is currently being attempted is not listed in "Current" section of Uploads.

I'm unable to upload to get server logs atm, can update next week. Similarly, I cannot get app logs since I'm on travel and cannot use the logcat instructions.

Hello

Cancel means the upload was cancelled by the user and can be retried later automatically. However, if the user removes the upload, it will not be scheduled again.

If a sync conflict occurs (for example, a file with the same name already exists on the server in the same directory) and the selected policy is ASK_USER, the application will ask how to resolve each conflict. In this case, a notification is shown for every conflicting file. This is expected and intended behavior.

If you prefer not to receive these notifications, you can select a different name-collision policy from the Auto Upload Overview page. After updating the folder configuration, the app will no longer show conflict notifications.

However, we can still consider whether a CANCELLED upload status should be automatically restartable or not.

Thank you for confirming what they all mean, those are the definitions I was tracking. However, files are being reattempted at unexpected times.

If I cancel an upload for a particular file, why is it reattempted automatically at any time?

If a jpg was successfully uploaded (correct size, etc) and not changed in Android, why did nextcloud reattempt an upload, causing a conflict? (For example, once a camera-jpg is stored, does Android ever touch the file to change any of its metadata? I assume not, so what caused NC to upload it again?)

If the Current list shows only jpgs, why is the pull-down notifications telling me that NC is attempting to upload an mp4 that I had previously cancelled? Why is the actively-uploading file not in the Current list?
