I had also got the same error, so I uninstalled the app, and reinstalled from the same dmg, and it works fine now.

I had this error after updating Codex to 0.120.0. Uninstall and re-install did not help.
Update: System reboot is what solved it.

This is the same issue as #1916. I posted a root cause analysis and a macOS workaround there — the backend startup exceeds the hardcoded 10s timeout by ~0.5–2s.

I have the same issue on Windows.. had it on 0.16 version.. deleted T3 Code of my machine, downloaded the new 0.17 version, installed it and instead of opening the App it crashed with that same error message.. then i opened it as admin and it worked.. hopefully this gets fixed in the 0.18 version with the hardcoded limits increased
