23-23: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | 🏗️ Heavy liftExercise the insertion control in the browser scenario.
Both scenarios call
editor.insert(), which sends the plugin event directly. They can pass even if a user cannot activate the insertion control or the control loses the editor selection. For a user-facing insertion regression, activate the real control and assert the resulting block. If the first scenario only tests plugin wiring, put that scenario in a.dom.test.tsfile instead. As per coding guidelines, “Use a.browser.test.tstest when the contract is that a user can perform an action and get the expected result in the app”; use.dom.test.tswhen behavior depends on editor and plugin composition. Closes #345, fixes #350
This PR fixes problem in #350, see more info in original comment: #350 (comment)
Summary
In this PR I've update the lexical and enable a syntax highlighting.
Also I have checked the code block logic, it works acceptable, and have fixed a CSS problem with broken lines for code block.
Findings
Since we can't decorate code block - we cannot afford to implement logic to select language of code block and add button to copy the whole content of code block.
The problem is Lexical does not let us to simply extend CodeNode with react wrapper to implement implement layout like:
Technically, it is possible to implement this approach, but with lot of downsides
I will ask Lexical community if this problem can be solved idiomatically and if it is possible, we will do it in another PR.
For now it seems we cannot extend any nodes, so it will be hard blocker for #86.
For purpose of code block controls implementation I propose another approach in #381
