- coerce_column_types: compare dtype string reprs, not dtype objects
  (elementwise dtype-object comparison raises under numpy 2.5)
- strip_columns: select string columns via is_string_dtype, since
  pandas 3.0 renamed the default string dtype object -> str
- validate_shapefile: build DataFrame then astype(str) (dtype=str at
  construction routes geometry through Arrow -> "1-dimensional arrays")
- tests: str.replace repl now optional; geom_type returns nan not None;
  dtype label object -> str
