Summary

  • document the legacy app-v2 -> api-v1 -> api-v2 simulation -> policyengine.py path in the repo README
  • expand the simulation project README with the policyengine 0.x maintenance-line policy and local validation steps
  • make the Modal image read the pinned policyengine dependency from pyproject.toml through a shared helper, with regression coverage

Validation

  • uv run pytest tests/test_policyengine_dependency_source.py
  • uv run pytest

Closing as stale (idle since 2026-04-09; the project was renamed policyengine-simulation-executor and now installs Modal image deps from pinned uv.lock exports, so the policyengine 0.x dependency policy documented here is obsolete). Max's PR sweep 2026-09-25. Reopen if still wanted.
