Previously, when --check-claims was set to false and a bundle in the new format was provided, we'd still try to check the in-toto subject digest and algorithm. These values weren't being set since they were conditioned on checking claims. Now, we skip digest verification if check-claims is false with a new bundle. This supports signing and verification with Rekor v2 with a user-provided signing key. Timestamps will only be required for verifying Fulcio certificates. One of the dependencies has hardcoded a specific version of go, which forces all clients to use that version of Go in their own modules. This is unnecessarily restrictive, rather libraries should specify the minimum Go version necessary to build, and consumers should use the latest patch release when building to pick up bug fixes. ee3d9fe changed the parsing of an in-toto Statement from using the deprecated in-toto/in-toto-golang Statement[1] to the recommended in-toto/attestation Statement[2]. This type is more strict about the Predicate field. Attestations that were created with `--type spdxjson` correctly become a regular JSON object under the "predicate" field in the Statement object, but attestations that were created with `--type spdx` become a string, which cosign was unable to Unmarshal with the new stricter type. This change addresses the issue by pre-parsing of the predicate to ensure it is properly formatted before unmarshalling it. WriteAttestationsReferrer drops per-layer OCI descriptor annotations (certificate, chain, RFC3161 timestamp) when pushing attestations via the Referrers API. This happens because atts.Layers() returns raw v1.Layer objects without descriptor metadata, and WriteReferrer rebuilds descriptors without the Annotations field. Fix by using atts.Get() to retrieve oci.Signature objects (which carry annotations), and adding annotation extraction in WriteReferrer via structural interface assertion. This change improves the detection logic and bootstrap for GCE keyless signing by also supporting a standard environment variable and library used by gcp sdks The previous logic just looked for a file to figure out if its on gce or not while this change adds to that by using a metadata server environment variable. This is useful in testing and provides ability to acquire gcp id_tokens in various environments (off the shelf kubernetes, using TPM (i know you can fulfill the latter directly) Signed-off-by: sal rashid <salrashid123@gmail.com>
