Summary
The http-proxy error handler always called
res.writeHead(500). When the upstream failed after the response head had already gone to the client, that threwERR_HTTP_HEADERS_SENTinside an event listener andnetlify devexited. Two ways to hit it:ECONNRESETafter the 405 is out. Ten 5.9 MB POSTs crashed the dev server.Once headers are sent, the handler now logs a warning and destroys the response if it is still open; the client sees a truncated response, which is how the
serverHandlercatch inonRequestalready handles this. If the response has already finished (the static-site 405 case), it is left alone without a warning, since the client already has its full response. The new integration test uses a framework server that sends a chunked head and one chunk, then resets the socket. It fails 5 of 5 runs on main and passes 5 of 5 with the fix.
