cfa10dd is a remnant of a change already merged, and is clearly redundant.
5eb74d4 was broken (does not compile on its own; breaks subsequent changes).
002310f (different binning modes) is thought to be redundant, because 5de9a51 (modify LLP) achieves a similar effect.
