On 2026-07-28 requests,
params._metamust carryio.modelcontextprotocol/protocolVersion, matching theMCP-Protocol-Versionheader, andio.modelcontextprotocol/clientCapabilities. A mismatch gets-32020 HeaderMismatch, and a missing or mistyped field gets-32602, both with HTTP 400. Notifications and 2025-11-25 requests are unchanged. Stacked on #39694, so its commit shows here until it lands. Closes DEX-81 and DEX-80.Tests: unit tests for the
_metacheck, and new cases in the 2026-07-28 datadriven file.
