Base Metals 3.0.1.115021 for Minecraft 1.15.2 (Forge)
Base Metals 3.0.1.115021
- Bring Base Metals to Minecraft 1.15.2 and Forge 31.2.57.
- Update ore overlays, metal bars, doors, trapdoors and molten fluids for
Minecraft 1.15's rendering changes. - Keep bows firing arrows and crossbows firing bolts, including the free iron
bolt used when firing without ammunition in Creative mode. - Keep material arrows and bolts visible in flight and when stuck in a target.
- Keep the 1.14 recipes, equipment effects, configuration screens, smith trades and village loot.
- Preserve Kiri's ore overlays and their resource-pack-aware vanilla backgrounds.
- Support upgrades from Cyano and MMD 1.10, MMD 1.12, and the 1.13 and 1.14
ports, keeping existing blocks, items, equipment and saved data. - Keep ForgeGradle 7 and Java 8 game compatibility. Builds and IDE launches
keep test code separate from the mod. - Use the published OreSpawn 4.1.0.115021 release for ore placement. The eleven
ore rules and their defaults are unchanged.
Base Metals 3.0.1.114041
- Bring the finished 1.13.2 port to Minecraft 1.14.4 and Forge 28.2.26.
- Keep existing blocks, items, recipes, save identities, High/Low Fantasy
settings and material-based recipe discovery. - Fix a crossbow crash when firing without bolts in Creative mode. Crossbows
use an iron bolt for the free shot instead of Minecraft's arrow fallback. - Use native 1.14 configuration widgets and Forge's Mods-list Config button.
OreSpawn's cog opens the same screen. - Use Forge's fluid textures and colours without the old renderer patch.
- Move smith trades to Armorer, Toolsmith and Weaponsmith, with normal
restocking and profession experience. Add the old blacksmith loot to each
profession's village chest. - Generate block loot tables for 1.14, including doors, slabs and worn anvils.
- Keep legacy-world migration and custom-anvil handling, while removing the
obsolete Forge 1.13 leaves patch. - Let 1.13 saves load without Forge stopping on the retired vanilla villager
registry. Villagers and their existing trades remain for Minecraft to convert. - Preserve the old vanilla sign and dye registry names when upgrading a world.
- Keep Kiri's ore overlays, vanilla host textures and automatic model updates.
- Build against the published OreSpawn 4.1.0.114041 release. The eleven ore
rules and their defaults are unchanged. - Split the longer build checks into focused scripts and retain ForgeGradle 7,
reproducible archives, checked dependencies and isolated test launches. - Keep translated text intact when building jars on Windows as well as Linux.
Base Metals 3.0.1.113021
- Add the configuration screen to Forge's Mods list and OreSpawn's cog, with
translated labels and help in all 18 language files. - Enable the Mods-list Config button when Base Metals is selected. Forge 1.13
leaves it disabled even when a configuration screen is registered. - Rewrite settings help and equipment tooltips in plain language. Clarify
armour bonuses and Starsteel self-repair, and correct the Pewter, Aquarium
and Steel advancement hints. - Bring High Fantasy and Low Fantasy modes forward from 1.12. Old configs
default to High Fantasy; existing items, saved equipment and ore generation
stay unchanged. Low Fantasy restricts crafting, plate repairs, shield
upgrades, new villager trades and chest loot to the allowed items. - Check the client and server's content modes during login, with a clear
message when they differ. Mode changes take effect after a restart and
apply to the installation, not individual worlds. - Restore earned recipe-book unlocks when returning from Low Fantasy to High
Fantasy, without resetting advancement progress. - Restore 1.12 recipe discovery: one ingot reveals a metal's crafting recipes,
without first making rods or plates. Vanilla materials use their usual
gems, coal, charcoal, redstone, stone or logs. Low Fantasy still hides
restricted recipes, and existing recipe-book progress is kept. - Add support for Kiri's ore overlays on vanilla host textures, including
resource pack replacements. Ores keep their original texture when no overlay
is available. - Update ore model JSONs automatically during builds and Eclipse Gradle refreshes.
- Fix Gradle game launches so Forge prepares the assets and native libraries.
Allow newer Java 8 updates for development while keeping release builds pinned. - Bring the 1.18.2 port to Minecraft 1.13.2 and Forge 25.0.223, running on Java 8.
- Keep the historical blocks, items, recipes, fluids, loot, trades and
advancements without requiring MMDLib or Additional Loot Tables. - Use the published OreSpawn 4.1.0.113021 release for all ore placement.
All eleven historical rules remain enabled, including Base Metals copper. - Support upgrades from Cyano and MMD Base Metals worlds made in Minecraft
1.10.2 and 1.12.2. Preserve old block states, equipment and fluid buckets,
including chunks whose only Base Metals content is inside containers. - Give all 36 molten-fluid buckets working models and material colours.
- Use ForgeGradle 7.0.34 and Gradle 9.6.1, with checked dependency downloads,
reproducible release jars and separate test and Eclipse launch classpaths.
Fixes carried forward from the 1.12 release
- Metal nuggets and powders no longer burn as furnace fuel. Coal and charcoal
keep their normal fuel values (#473). - Diamond, Emerald, Gold and Quartz doors use six ingredients, so their recipes
no longer collide with trapdoors (#474). - Steel rail crafting produces 16 rails. Bows and crossbows now combine their
material's attack damage with the ammunition material before adding Power (#467). - Plate repairs preserve the original item's name, enchantments and other NBT,
and reject incomplete recipes and extra ingredients. They stay out of the
recipe book. - Crafting recipes unlock when you find the material or matching ingredients,
including ingredients from Forge tags. Recipe-book groups are specific to
the resulting item. - Nine Obsidian nuggets produce an ingot, not a block. Obsidian blocks use nine
ingots, with a pattern distinct from bars and doors. Vanilla Bits swords and
bolts no longer cost less material than their recycling recipes return.

Base Metals 2.6.0.112021 for Minecraft 1.12.2 (Forge)
Base Metals 2.6.0.112021 — Minecraft 1.12.2
Before upgrading
- Back up worlds and configuration. Install MMDLib and OreSpawn
4.1.0.112021 or newer in the 4.x line on both client and server. - Old configurations without a content mode stay in High Fantasy. Existing
items and block IDs are retained. - OreSpawn is now the only Base Metals ore generator. Use OreSpawn overrides
or world settings to disable its rules when another mod generates the ores.
The old MMDLib world-generation switches no longer control Base Metals.
Gameplay fixes
- Metal nuggets and powders no longer burn as furnace fuel. Coal and charcoal
forms keep their intended fuel values (#473). - Doors and trapdoors have distinct recipes. Vanilla-material additions such
as Diamond and Gold doors are registered and available as intended (#474). - Base Metals Adamantine no longer shares the Adamant alias with TAIGA (#467).
- Fishing rods use their material's durability and retain vanilla fishing wear
rules (#467). - The Steel rail recipe produces 16 rails, matching the vanilla recipe (#467).
- Crossbows fire bolts on the server, so hits damage their targets. Launcher
and ammunition materials both contribute to ranged damage. Bolts use a valid
projectile texture, and picked-up Base Metals arrows keep their identity (#467). - Armor effects count equipped pieces correctly and no longer depend on an
undamaged stack. Aquarium's underwater effects and Starsteel's movement
bonuses now apply as intended (#470, #450). - Tinkers casting and alloy registration skip disabled or missing materials
and fluids instead of crashing, including disabled Prismarine additions (#455). - Hoes report the tool-material name expected by Ancient Warfare 2 (#449).
- The native OreSpawn provider replaces the old plugin and fallback generator.
Its eleven rules retain their defaults and customized migration values, and
can be disabled without duplicate fallback generation (#448, #428). - Recipe-book unlocks recognize matching Ore Dictionary ingredients. Recipes
are grouped by their result instead of merging whole weapon and tool families. - Plate repair requires exactly one damaged armor piece or shield and one
matching plate. It preserves NBT, rejects extra ingredients, and no longer
appears as a misleading plate-only recipe in the recipe book. - Restored the 18 historical gameplay achievements, including Juggernaut,
SCUBA Diver, and Moon Walker, with saved advancement progress.
Configuration
- Added High Fantasy and Low Fantasy content modes. High Fantasy keeps the
historical content; Low Fantasy limits acquisition to suitable material forms.
Items remain registered and available in creative mode in both modes. - Crafting, processing, trades, chest loot, and supported integrations respect
the selected mode. Clients and servers must use the same effective mode. - Added the configuration screen to Forge's Mods list and OreSpawn's cog.
It has localized labels and help in all 18 language files, cancellation,
reset controls, restart guidance, and warnings before disabling generated ores. - Content modes are installation-wide settings. They do not change OreSpawn
distributions or overwrite existing world profiles.
Build and delivery
- Modernized the Minecraft 1.12.2 build on ForgeGradle 7, Gradle 9.6.1 and
checksum-pinned Java and mod dependencies. - Added deterministic release archives, artifact auditing, Eclipse launch
generation, packaged Forge runtime qualification and guarded GitHub Actions
release delivery. - Isolated ordinary Eclipse launches from compile-only integration APIs, so
optional mods such as CoFH Core are not accidentally loaded without their
dependencies, while preserving Forge's order-sensitive runtime classpath. - Updated the development target to Forge 14.23.5.2859 and OreSpawn
4.1.0.112021 while retaining Java 8 game compatibility. - Replaced the retired build services with pinned GitHub Actions checks and
a guarded Maven, CurseForge, and GitHub release workflow (#468). - Split the build scripts by purpose and cleaned up source layout and comments.
Base Metals 2.5.0-rc2.332
- (@dshadowwolf) Masses of bug-fixes
- (@dshadowwolf) Move vanilla extensions out of MMDLib - the lib should be providing anything but raw materials
Base Metals 3.0.1.118021 for Minecraft 1.18.2 (Forge)
Base Metals 3.0.1.118021
- Modernize the Minecraft 1.18.2 build to ForgeGradle 7.0.34 and Gradle 9.6.1.
- Qualify against the exact OreSpawn 4.0.16.118021 CurseForge release while retaining the supported OreSpawn 4.x runtime range.
- Add deterministic main, sources, and Javadocs artifacts with release checksums and guarded publication validation.
- Isolate GameTests and smoke fixtures from production artifacts and Eclipse production launches.
- Add pinned GitHub Actions for build, GameTests, generated-data drift, CodeQL, wrapper validation, and target-qualified releases.
Gameplay, registry IDs, recipes, save migration, and the OreSpawn provider rules are unchanged from Base Metals 3.0.0.
