fix(packaging): add flask-session to [flask] extra, drop unused deps - #208

Conversation
- Add flask-session to the `flask` optional extra. kinde_flask imports flask_session at module load, so `pip install kinde-python-sdk[flask]` previously failed with ModuleNotFoundError on first import. 0.7.0 is excluded because it dropped the cachelib dependency its default filesystem backend (the one kinde_flask configures) requires. - Remove runtime dependencies that are never imported by kinde_sdk, kinde_flask or kinde_fastapi (directly, lazily or via importlib) and are not needed by any other declared dependency: Authlib, frozendict, cryptography, itsdangerous, nest-asyncio. Mirror the removals in requirements.txt. - Delete kinde_flask/pyproject.toml and kinde_fastapi/pyproject.toml. They describe never-built 0.1.0 sub-packages (Python 3.8, kinde SDK >=1.2.6); the root pyproject.toml is the only build config, CI does not reference them, and they are not shipped in the sdist or wheel. - Remove the dead [tool.poetry.dev-dependencies] table. The build backend is setuptools, there is no [tool.poetry] project table or poetry.lock, and the dev extra already covers these tools.

One pin to mirror, then this is good to merge. The [flask] extra was broken, and adding flask-session there is the right fix. Dropping the five unused runtime dependencies, the stale nested pyproject.toml files, and the leftover Poetry dev section is also right: nothing in the Python tree imports them, and the build backend is setuptools.
Please give requirements.txt the same <1.0.0 cap as the extra. CI installs that file, not the extra, so the day Flask-Session 1.0 exists the test run and pip install kinde-python-sdk[flask] will not be on the same range. 1.0.0 is not on PyPI today (latest is 0.8.0), so this is not broken yet.
Not a blocker: the README Flask install is still pip install flask python-dotenv flask-session, with no !=0.7.0 and no upper bound. A fresh install gets 0.8.0. A resolver that is held to 0.7.0 still gets the release whose filesystem backend has no cachelib. Worth pointing that line at kinde-python-sdk[flask] in a follow-up.

Wondering about the >=0.5.0 floor here. The Flask-Session changelog lists "Support Flask 3.0 and Werkzeug 3.0" under 0.6.0, and 0.5.0's metadata only asks for flask>=2.2. This extra requires flask>=3.0.0, so 0.5.x is outside what upstream says it supports.
The session-ID stuff matters more for an auth SDK. From the same changelog:
- 0.6.0 moves session IDs to
secretswith 256 bits (was 122). - 0.7.0 fixes session identifier reuse on storage miss (fix: resolve v1 management API and Python 3.13 compatibility issues #76) and adds
regenerate.
Since 0.7.0 is the broken one and 0.8.0 is the first release after it that works, a >=0.8.0, <1.0.0 floor would get rid of both the old behaviour and the !=0.7.0 exclusion (and most of that comment). CI installs requirements.txt, so the resolver always picks 0.8.0 there and the 0.5/0.6 floor never actually gets tested.
If you'd rather keep the wide range for older Flask 2.x-era installs, I get it, but then bump to at least 0.6.0. Whatever lands here should be mirrored in requirements.txt (that's the same spot as the <1.0.0 thread).

Changed to 0.6.0, in both pyproject.toml and requirements.txt. I kept 0.8.0 so apps still on 0.6.x can install it, which is why the !=0.7.0 exclusion stays.
Flask-Session only supports Flask 3 from 0.6.0, so raise the floor from 0.5.0. Use the same range in requirements.txt as in the [flask] extra, including the <1.0.0 cap, so CI tests what users actually install.

Reviewed and tested locally. pip install ".[flask]" now installs cleanly and import kinde_flask works. I also checked it with flask-session==0.6.0, and the resolver rejects 0.7.0 as intended. pytest testv2 gives 444 passed, 3 skipped. None of the five removed dependencies is imported anywhere in the source. Dropping cryptography is safe because token_manager.py decodes with verify_signature=False. The earlier change requests (the <1.0.0 cap in requirements.txt) are addressed. Two non-blocking suggestions: add a CHANGELOG note, since removing runtime dependencies can break users who relied on them arriving transitively, and update the README’s Flask install line (README.md:104) to use kinde-python-sdk[flask] so it can’t pick up 0.7.0. LGTM. |

[flask]extra now includesflask-session.kinde_flaskimportsflask_sessionat module load, sopip install kinde-python-sdk[flask]currently fails withModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'flask_session'as soon as Flask support loads. Pinned>=0.6.0, !=0.7.0, <1.0.0, in both the extra andrequirements.txt. 0.6.0 is the first version that supports Flask 3, and 0.7.0 dropped itscachelibdependency, which the filesystem backend used bykinde_flaskneeds (0.6 and 0.8 checked and working).Authlib, frozendict, cryptography, itsdangerous(still installed transitively by Flask),nest-asyncio. main, installed[flask]into a fresh venv:import kinde_flaskfails onflask_session. Same on this branch: installs Flask-Session 0.8.0, import works, session round-trip works.pytest testv2: 444 passed, 3 skipped (same asmain), both fromrequirements.txtand from the wheel with[dev, flask, fastapi].python -m buildproduces sdist and wheel.Deliberately out of scope
requirements.txt(has a fresh Renovate rule from chore(deps): update dependency django to v6 #200/chore(deps): guard against re-breaking django pin for Python <3.12 #203; removing it cleanly also means dropping that rule andpytest-django).ci.yml.requirements.txtrather than the built package, which is why the missing extra went unnoticed; a wheel-install job would catch this class of bug. Happy to follow up separately.
